Sandals Whitehouse Day 1

By admin

Day 1 – April 24, 2009

Hello from beautiful Jamaica! One of my favorite things to do as a destination wedding planner is visit venues to check out unique offerings for my client. I have always known Sandals to be the ultimate weddingmoon resort in the Caribbean but certainly did not realize that each property was so unique in their offering.

The Bridal Affaire was invited by Sandals Resorts international to tour their properties in Jamaica during April 24th - 30th. The experience allowed me to experience the “luxury included” concept that Sandals offers and I am excited to say that I am now a Sandals junkie!

In an effort to give you a full “fam tour” like I had, I will send short burst everyday (if I can manage since I am generally very long winded!) of my week and then a regular length post the week when I get back to office!

A few things to note on my first day…

There is a Sandals lounge in the airport…that is the ultimate start to a vacation! Cool wet towels to ease the travel fatigue and ice cold cocktails.

The highlights of the Sandals Whitehouse property for me were the location, Eleanor’s restaurant and the Red Lane Spa! The property is located on 50 acres of beachfront property within a 500 acre reserve. This ensures the ultimate privacy and a honeymooner’s paradise. Notably, the property has a very European feel and has three villages in the styles of Dutch, French and Italian. Sandals Whitehouse embodies romance and relaxation and we were even treated with a peek at a blushing bride and her groom after exchanging their vows!

The Red Lane Spa’s signature scent, lemon grass, has lingered with me and I take every opportunity to get my diffuser going…I even found lemongrass tea and am firmly converted!

Whitehouse is the ultimate lovers paradise if your intentions are to just relax and enjoy each other.

Bridal tip
On your wedding day, while getting your make-up and hair done, wear a button down shirt instead of a t-shirt. This will ensure that you can remove the shirt to get dressed without smudging your make-up or ruining your hairdo trying to get anything over your head. "Borrow" something from "hubby's" clothes hamper so that you have him close at hand while you are getting ready!
