Mood board #1 pink brown & orange

I realize that I clearly live vicariously through my clients’ weddings and I have been dying to explore this pink, brown and orange palette.  I am definitely not a girly girl and so pink doesn’t factor very much into my colour choices however, I absolutely adore orange and when paired with brown as a neutralizer, I could so do this!  It says bright and sunny, it says destination and most of all it says elegant and stylish…what more could a girl ask for?

I am so honoured and delighted to announce that The Bridal Affaire received the 2009 Small Business Excellence Award for Business Start-Up from BOCA Publishing Group Inc. at their annual small business expo held last evening at The Living Arts Centre in Mississauga!!

The award recognizes the small business that has shown growth in their industry and is tracking with solid goals for the future.  It also takes into consideration how the company gives back to the community and the possibility of said company creating feasible employment opportunities within their industry.

It feels great to be rewarded for the small steps that The Bridal Affaire and is newest division, Bridal Affair Destinations, have taken over the years in the special events and wedding planning industries.  I will endeavor to continue moving the company forward, planning events and cementing our niche as the experts in destination wedding planning to Jamaica!

At the Bridal Affaire, we believe in giving back to the community, and it is this commitment that keeps us close to what is important to our business - people.  Today, we will stage the bridal dress event for New Beginnings charity Program and are now looking toward our involvement with Caribbean Promotions Arts and Culture and “Jerkfest 2009”.  This is an annual jerk festival to be held this year in Centennial Park in Etibicoke on August 8 – 9, 2009.

I will be onboard as the Director of Marketing and Promotions for this years 8th annual staging and am looking forward to “Jerk and Jazz” Sunday to the fine dining jerk and wine pairing garden which will be my mini project.

The Bridal Affaire has always had the support of the community and as we build and grow, it is our privilege to work with our strategic partners to give back and strengthen the communities we live and work in.

Please send me a comment and let me know if I will be seeing at this year’s Jerk Festival in Centennial Park on August 8-9, 2009 and your comments will be entered into a draw for a spa and relaxation basket that will get your summer started in high style.

Bridal tip
On your wedding day, while getting your make-up and hair done, wear a button down shirt instead of a t-shirt. This will ensure that you can remove the shirt to get dressed without smudging your make-up or ruining your hairdo trying to get anything over your head. "Borrow" something from "hubby's" clothes hamper so that you have him close at hand while you are getting ready!
