So the summer has kicked off in a frenzy and indeed in high style for us here at Bridal Affair Destinations and I hardly know where to start updating you…maybe blogging more frequently would help ;)

One of the most fun projects that I am really looking forward to is the kick off to summer Engagement Shoot and Trash The Dress event at “The Barn” at Banty’s Roost.  The Barn will get some well deserved attention as it is quite a fabulous space to get some of those rare, fun, artistic shots that everyone wants out of their engagement shoot these days.  There are three distinct areas at the end of the property at Banty’s that will make any photographer do the happy dance and any couple who is determined to get a different, funky, really fun engagement shoot lining up to book one of the 12 spots available on June 27, 2010 from midday to 5:00 p.m.

The Barn area features the old, dusty, time worn feel with the necessary cut stone side and old weatherbeaten door, complete with farm machinery (yes there is a tractor, one yellow, one red and if I can find it we can put hay on it…think Ive been getting those questions a lot!).  there is also the arbor, made of a natural grove of apple trees that looks like a fairytale walkway as they lean towards each other over the path and finally the actual golf course complete with golf carts and clubs etc.

There is something for everyone and with the location fee at only $50 and the actual photoshoot completely free and done by the fabulous photographers that we have onboard, this is bound to be the most fun and best spent Sunday afternoon north of the city :)

Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Friend, Blogger, Photographer, Thinker, Social Butterfly, Chatty CathyList Maker, Movie Junkie, Facebook Lover, Book AddictSilly, Serious, Soft-Hearted, Dreamer, Lover, Quirky Girl…..meet Christa Hann, fantastic local photographer to Brampton, Caledon and Georgetown and one of our featured photographers for the shoot! Check her out at www.christahann.showitsite.com.

This last weekend provided an interesting glimpse into what my closet international “destination” has to offer! I was privileged to visit a few fantastic venues right across the border in New Jersey, USA. One of the newest clients to sign with Bridal Affair Destinations will be married in New Jersey next Fall and as always, I hopped across to research venues and do my due diligence to find the perfect spot for their nuptials.

Thank goodness for colleagues across the world as my friend Annette at Poise & Perfection Events (www.poiseandperfection.com) assisted me with a thorough list of resources based on my clients’ indications and I must say that I was very impressed with the options. My first stop was the sophisticated Newark Club centrally located at One Newark Center, adjacent to the New Jersey Performing Arts center (NJPAC). Situated on the 22nd floor, the vista is magnificent and the space oozed relaxed luxury.

The professional and entertaining Artie was my host for the tour and as we walked through the space and I explored the offerings for weddings and special events, I was surprised by how differently things were done down south! There were inclusions to every event that wowed. Of note are the front door valet parking, white gloved service with manned cocktail stations at the lobby level, the lobby transformed into a beautiful garden and guests whisked to the 22nd floor by express elevators just in time to be welcomed to the cocktail hour. I was very impressed with the commitment to great service and their determination to make each affair one to remember.

With the venue being conveniently accessed from Central and Northern New Jersey, as well as Staten Island and the New York City area, it is certainly accessible to an array of guests and vendors for any occasion. The Club has partnered with a number of outstanding professionals to assist with every aspect of a wedding and their menu is vast and tailored to suit the most discriminating palate.

I am certainly looking forward to working with The Newark club in the future as Bridal Affair Destinations extends it’s reach south of the border!

At Bridal Affair Destinations, we believe in offering every utility to our clients to plan their wedding in its entirety.  That is why we are very pleased to announce that we can now book travel for your groups to your destination weddings through our new affiliate company Bridal Affair Travel TPI!  I am a registered travel agent with Travel Professionals International (TPI) and can now provide an additional service to clients to make them even more comfortable working on a wedding abroad.

As I have often said, one of the major factors for brides and grooms planning a destination wedding is to find someone they can trust to handle all the details of the process so that they do not have to get involved and that also means the travel agent.  This is one of the areas that will directly impact their guests before they get to the destination and the couple wants their guests to feel comfortable and welcomed throughout their booking process as well.

We are very pleased to add this service option so that we can satisfy this criteria and who better to trust with your group booking than your wedding planner who by now you have grown to love and trust :)

Welcome Aboard!

Bridal tip
On your wedding day, while getting your make-up and hair done, wear a button down shirt instead of a t-shirt. This will ensure that you can remove the shirt to get dressed without smudging your make-up or ruining your hairdo trying to get anything over your head. "Borrow" something from "hubby's" clothes hamper so that you have him close at hand while you are getting ready!
